How it works

  1. 1
    Download and unzip the installer.

The button above, on the add-in's card. Then right-click the zip → Extract All — do not run the .cmd from inside the zip.

  2. 2
    Double-click Install-Windows.cmd.

No admin required. The script only places the manifest file where Office looks for add-ins and starts Excel or PowerPoint. If the app is already running, close it once and reopen it.

  3. 3
Ribbon Home → group brAInOpen brAIn.

Button missing? Home → Add-ins → Developer Add-ins. Then enter your API key (see below).

Remove: Uninstall-Windows.cmd from the same zip.

Sign in with your GenAI Studio key

On first open the task pane asks for an access key. In GenAI Studio go to Settings → API Keys, create a personal key and paste it into the task pane's gear menu.

The key stays local in your Office and is only used to call GenAI Studio on your behalf. Excel and PowerPoint remember the key separately.

For M365 admins
